Say you've got a toddler, a school run and a bored Say you've got a toddler, a school run and a bored dog. Here's the first thing I'd change.

I'm not putting breakfast down in a bowl. I'm tossing handfuls of dry food across the garden so my dog can spend some time sniffing out his breakfast. Anything that gets your dog using the nose is a winner. That way I can make sure bags are packed, water bottles are filled, everyone's got shoes on, you know the drill.

I'm not taking the dog on the school run. It's too chaotic, everyones in a rush and it's not fair on any kids at school that have allergies or just don't like dogs. I'm getting everyone to their respective educational institutions and then me and the dog are heading out for some decompression time for both of us. Which may include a flying visit to a coffee shop, depending on how the night was.

On extra busy days, I'm booking my dog in with a dog walker so I know they're getting the exercise and social time they need without me feeling super guilty. Duke used to go out with our fabulous team a couple of days a week to lighten the load a bit.

Is it helpful to read how I'd plan a day with children and a dog to minimise the chaos and keep everybody (relatively) calm and content? Let me know in the comments 🐶❤️
