FAQs
Why does it cost more than a puppy class?
A puppy class is a room of other people’s puppies and one plan for all of them. This is one-to-one: you, your puppy and your real life. I’m not teaching you to pass a class. I’m showing you what to do on a Tuesday at 6pm when your puppy has the zombies whilst you’re trying to get the kids in the bath. We’ll do the down-stay and the lead walking, but we’ll fix the specific problems you’re having too.
It works out at about £92 a week for 12 weeks. That gets you 9 one-to-one sessions, a Client Handbook, a treats-and-toys bundle picked for your puppy, and me on WhatsApp when there’s been another puddle.
Can’t I just work it out from YouTube and Google?
You can learn what to do from the internet. It can’t watch your puppy and spot the tiny things you may be missing. It can’t tell you what’s going on and why it’s not going the way you want it to. Everyone you know has a different opinion, and the internet has about four hundred more.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Pay £1,099 in one go, or 3 payments of £399, one payment each of the programme.
What actually happens on the intro call?
It’s a chat about your puppy and your household, so we can see if we’re a good fit. There’s no pressure and if we’re not the right fit, I’ll tell you. It’s free of charge and lasts between 15 and 30 minutes. We can arrange it for a time that works for you.
Do you guarantee results?
No, and I’d be wary of anyone who does. Every puppy is different, and what changes depends partly on what happens between sessions. What I can give you is a plan you can follow, a clear idea of what to work on first, and me in your corner when it’s not going to plan. I can guarantee you that I will give you all the help I can to get the results you are looking for with your pup.
We’re busy. How do I fit this around work and kids?
You’re exactly who this is for. I’ve got three kids of my own, so training has to work in real life, not just on paper. The exercises we’ll work through are small and fit into things you already do. Sessions can be done on Saturdays so all the family can be involved or during the school day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays so we can really focus. Whichever works best for you.
Is “unlimited WhatsApp support” really unlimited?
Message me any time with a question about your puppy. I reply between 9am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday. I’m here to help with all your puppy training and behaviour questions.
What does “force-free” actually mean?
No shock collars, no prong collars, no physical force and no aversive tools. Ever. I teach your puppy what to do and reward it, rather than punishing what they get wrong. They learn to listen because it’s fun for them.
Does it include socialisation?
Yes! We’ll work together to ensure your puppy has positive experiences with dogs, people and everything else in the world around them to help them become a confident adult dog.
What if we need to miss or move a session?
No problem at all. In our kickstarter session, we’ll schedule in the following 8 sessions but these can be moved as needed as we work through the programme. We have a 24 hour cancellation policy so just cancel no later than the day before our scheduled session and we can re-arrange.
How young (or old) can my puppy be to start?
We can start the day you bring your puppy home! That’s a major advantage of one to one training over classes, there’s no need to wait for your puppy’s vaccinations.
