As promised, here’s our Christmas Gift Guide for Dogs and Dog Lovers 2022! We’ve chosen a selection of goodies for you and your dog or a dog loving friend from some of our favourite brands. We’ve also included picks from myself, Dan (my partner and our wonderful dog walker- he doesn’t get much of a look in here!) and of course the boss, Duke Silver. They’re mostly from small, independent businesses too so you can feel good about supporting small businesses whilst also spoiling your dog and the dog lover in your life. What’s not to love?!
For Your Dog
Advent Calendar from JR Pet Products
We get one of these every year for Duke. They’re great fun to do when we’re tucking into our own tiny bits of chocolate and they’re a natural, healthy treat too.
Duke’s Pick- The Fabric Frisbee from Tug-E-Nuff
This Frisbee is without doubt Duke’s favourite toy! We have two of these Frisbee’s and use them for supercharging his recall, hiding around the house for rainy day fun and practising Drop It.
Personalised Dog Stocking from AppleYard Designs (Etsy)
An adorable personalised dog stocking. Need I say more?
Monthly Subscription Treat Box from The Bandit Dog Box
You can order a one off Christmas Box (one in the post for the Boss as we speak) or a recurring subscription box for your dog. Each box includes a suprise toy and a selection of natural chews and treats. We love that a donation from each box is made to Amber’s Hope animal rescue too.
Snuffle Mat from Pancake Cat
Dogs love to sniff! Giving your dogs toys that encourage sniffing helps them relax and snuffle mats/balls are a great way to provide that all important mental stimulation. I often give Duke a snuffle mat or ball to work on when we have visitors or he’s had a busy day to help calm him down a bit.
Festive Bandanas from Not for Humans Pet Boutique
We love everything about Not for Humans! Debbie & her dog Brenda have a wonderful selection of treats, toys, accesories and basically anything fabulous you might want or need for your dog. We especially love these Festive Bandanas. Check out their website or pop in if you’re local to Folkestone.
For You/ The Dog Lover in your life
Dan’s Pick- Pokeboo Packable Boots
These are the boots Dan uses for his winter walks and he highly recommends them! They’re made of rubber so completely waterproof and super comfortable for walking in all day, unlike a traditional welly boot.
Training Gift Certificates from Doherty Dog Services
You must have seen this coming! Maybe you know someone who could do with a little help with training their dog? I’m your girl! I offer online and in person training in Folkestone, Kent area and our gift certificates can be printed off for a physical gift or sent digitally. Available in 90 min sessions for £75 or a course of 6 1 hour sessions for £250. Just contact us to purchase.
Paco Pouch Treat Pouch from Perfect Fit
A decent treat pouch is an absolute game changer for your walks and this one is superb. It’s got three different compartments for storing different value treats and you can take the inner pouch out and pop it in the dishwasher so it doesn’t get gross after using moist treats.
Personalised Dog Cushion from Not on the High Street
These personalised dog cushions make such a sweet and thoughtful gift. You can choose from a range of designs so they look just like the recipient and their dog. I was gifted a mug with Duke and I on last year and I love it, it makes me smile everytime I look at it.
Merry Christmas from all of at Doherty Dog Services!
